A new feature called AI Scribe is arriving in the IMPaCT app on September 11!
What: AI Scribe is a feature that records and summarizes client conversations. It acts like an expert note-taker that keeps track of everything you discuss and creates a draft note that you can review, edit, and finalize. You can also use it as a dictation tool if you prefer to dictate rather than type your notes.
Why: During client visits AI Scribe gives you the freedom to fully focus on your client without splitting your attention between listening and notetaking. Afterward, AI Scribe saves you time spent creating and editing notes. With AI scribe you can work more effectively and efficiently so you can keep your commitments not only to your clients but also to yourself and your loved ones.
Of note this is a beta release which means we’re releasing AI Scribe while there is still room for improvement! We believe it will be a valuable addition to the IMPaCT app and we’d love to hear your feedback.
How: Here’s how to use this new feature.

The basics:
- AI Scribe is designed to be used from your phone. Sign into the IMPaCT app from your phone browser and you’ll see on the client list a microphone icon by each client name.
- Before you begin recording, take a minute to let your client know you’d like to use a note-taking tool and ask whether they consent to being recorded. If they don’t want to be recorded, just take notes by hand. Make sure to ask for consent to record each time you use AI scribe.
- Once your client has agreed to recording, hit the microphone button by their name on the client list and follow the instructions to start your recording.
- When you’re done, submit your recording and you’ll see a draft note appear in the notes list of your client’s chart!
- Pro-tip: Try dictating a note as well as recording a conversation. You’ll be able to use the transcript of your dictation for your note!
